Lilz: Where did you get the name BlessMcfly?
BlessMcFly: Thats my real name........lmao, j/k.. I got the name Bless b/c I suffer from bad allergies and would always be sneezing so my friends would always be sayin "bless you"..that kinda became my lil nickname and eventually got shortened to Bless .. the McFly part didnt come into play until many years after.. My dude Photo used to say that I always dressed like I was in a fashion show cuz I would be dumb fly just to go to the grocery store..lol.. So he started callin me "McFly".. then i just added the two together.. equaled out to Bless McFly.
Lilz: How old were you when you started rapping?
BlessMcFly: I always been heavy into music.. Growing up listening to oldies with my pops, and always had a love for hip hop music.. I was a big fan of Naughty by Nature, Black Moon, Tribe Called Quest... I used to stay up til like 12am or 1am every Friday night just to watch Yo MTv Raps with Fab Five Freddy, then it was Dr.Dre & Ed Lover.. I was a hip hop junkie.. but I THINK i started writing my own raps around age 11 or 12.. its been in me for so long, I feel like I came out the womb writing rhymes.. lol.. but I do know that I recorded my first joint in the stu @ age 13, my momz took me to her friends studio and I been doin my thing ever since.
Lilz: Who are your influences in music? Is there anyone you would like to work with?
BlessMcFly: Of course I'm influenced by the greats: Tupac, Nas, Biggie, Jay-Z.. there's a lot of other artists that influence me as well, alot to name.. I fuck with Ghostface Killah real heavy.. dat's a fresh nigga right there word up.. Slick Rick as well.. I would like to work with Kanye, I think his beats are real dope & fresh.. Really, theres a couple artists and producers I would love to work with..but again, there's quite a few to sit here and try to list em all..
Lilz: Who do you think is the best rapper in New Jersey?
BlessMcFly: The best rapper in NJ?? Thats an irrelevant question in my opinion. Myself, along with my teamSecret Society, are artists that are from NJ, but we arent focused on things like that. As long as we do what we do, and get our points across with our music, that's all that matters.. Being the best in your area is cool & all, but it's about being one of the best or thee best worldwide.. When you can go to other parts of the country and other regions of the world and people who listen to hip hop know who you are, and maybe even consider you the best..that's what's relevant..
Lilz: How do you feel about the music out today?
BlessMcFly: The music out today is TOTALLY different from the music that I grew up with. I dont like to talk negatively about things, but......to each his own. I dont know. But I will say this.. 90% of the music that's being put out today, wouldnt stand a chance back in the 90's.. Nowadays, the UN-COOL is the COOL.. I just dont get it.. lol
Lilz: If there was anything else you would want to do other than music what would it be?
BlessMcFly: I would always want to be doing something with music.. I could do alot of other things, I'm definitely a business minded and business savy person, but music is my love.. I would probably be managing some dope artist or something like that.. lol.. A&R or something..
Lilz: Where do you see yourself in 1Oyrs?
BlessMcFly: Such a typical interview question..lol..In 10yrs.. I see myself being SUCCESSFUL & enjoying life.. simple as that..
Lilz: Who have you worked with?
BlessMcFly: I worked with a lot of underground artist in NJ.. a couple artist and producers overseas.. and a few producers from Jersey thats doing they thing in the industry on the low.. JS Krillz, Vertical Jones, Feva, J-Exclusive..
Lilz: If you can describe your style in music what would it be?
