Exclusive interview with Dylan. .

Lilz: Tell em who you are & what you do, where you are from?

Dylan: Bless. For those who dont know I am Dylan...a Caribean Hiphop artist. I was raised in NY as well as Grenada in the Caribean and I started off as a dancehall/reggae selector or a DJ. Later on my love for writing music became more dominant in my life and I decided to use the gift that God gave me to move people, make good music, make a difference and feed my loved ones and myself

Lilz: How would you describe your experience being on making the band & working with Diddy?

Dylan: It was a great experience as well as life changing. It was one of the most challenging musical experiences in my life because I was forced to build a perfect bond with 5 other strangers from different parts of the world in a small amount of time, create an album, work with a Hiphop Mogul and all under the bright lights of 24/7 TV cameras. (that=drama)...So the pressure was on, especially since I had no real experience in the business before this and was still out on bail awaiting a jail sentence when the show began. It was TV for most...edited tv at that....but real life for me. At the end of the day I left a soldier and grew to be a captain. I thank God for allowing me to be a part of the first all black reality show ever in the world and a part of a platinum selling group.

Lilz: How do you feel about the music out today?

Dylan: Music is the greatest form of expression and communication. So no matter what genre it is, its good...because someone is expressing themselves and thats a gift within itself. The business on the other hand is very corrupt and you gotta learn how to move in a room full of vultures. Thats all. Im personally proud of every artist who puts their heart, blood and tears into their craft. So the music today is as good as yesterday. IF you open your heart

Lilz: Who else have you worked with? & who would you like to work with?

Dylan: I have worked with many, many underground artist. A lot of pure talent comes from those who are not yet seen in the big lights and being that my name is already big I have no problem helping those who deserve it gain more exposure. Otherwise, aside from Diddy I have worked with Cheri Dennis, Crooked I, Sizzla, BeenieMan, Tone Trump and a host full of others that you will suprised to see and hear soon.

Lilz: How long have you been in the music scene?

Dylan: I started off as a member of the Daband in 2003...as far as my solo career, it has just begun.

Lilz: What do you have planned this year?

Dylan: To marry Kelly Rowland, go skydiving and take a certain russian bombshell out on a date.

Lilz: Are you signed right now? Independent?

Dylan: Im so Major. What do you mean?

Lilz: Who are your influences in music?

Dylan: Bob Marley, Sam Cooke, Lauren Hill, Tupac...Stevie Wonder...Reggae sound systems...a few legends who gave their life to give us music. Those who Sacrificed their privacy and family quality time to give us their art.

Lilz: Where do you see yourself in 10yrs?

Dylan: If Im alive? Happy first and foremost. And secondly: wealthy from non entertainment investments (smart) and helping those who are less fortunate. Last but not least watching my son grow in wisdom.

Lilz: What kind of advice would you give to those up and coming artists trying to make it in the ...

Dylan: I dont advise anyone to get into the music business now. And if your that stubborn or driven to still continue....have bread and build your own buzz. They will come.
One Love
