Interview with KD.

Lilz: Tell the people who you are & where your from? Also what do you do?

KD: I go by KD, actually got a Russian background like you do, I'm a hip-hop artist all the way from Montreal, Canada. Home of amazing weed and huge pot

Lilz: How long have you been rapping & who are your influences?

KD: I wrote my first rhyme when I was like 12, and it was probably more violent than anything else I've ever written!! But I took it serious about 5 years ago. My influences started with Eminem, Dr.Dre and Snoop, but as the years went by I started listening to all kind of artists, south, east, other genres as well. It helped me creatively, I'm all about versatility.

Lilz: Who have you worked with & who would you like to work with?

KD: I worked with a few local artists here in Montreal, recently i've been collaborating with Producer and singer Voyce* also from Montreal. Unfortunatly, not too many collabos outside of the city, but I am definitely working on that. I would love to work with many of these new artists out today, the ones keeping hip-hop and lyricsm alive. Hopefully I'll have the chance sooner than later.

Lilz: How do you feel about the music out today?

KD: As far as hip-hop goes, I like it a lot more than I did about 2-3 years ago. All these new guys coming out have some amazing music, they're actually saying something. Not only that, everybody is supporting it, records are being sold. J.Cole #1 on the charts? that's real hip-hop right there! Honestly i feel like there is a little more filtering getting done than before, even though any kid can pick up a mic and make a youtube account, it's not every kid making it. There's talent out there again.

Lilz: If you didn't rap, what would you be doing instead as a career?

KD: Well for now I still gotta do my 9 to 5 and pay these bills, these covers, videos, studios but I would always stick around music, if not actually rapping I'd manage someone, run a label, learn to produce. I don't think I'd ever just fully let it go.

Lilz: What are your plans for 2012?

KD: Definitly getting more out there, as you can see I'm starting now. This city is really small and crowded right now in the hip-hop world, I been focused on here but now it's about going outside of it, other cities, other countries. In 2011 I released like 11 different videos and this "A Shot Of Vodka" Mixtape october 9th, next year I wanna release even more videos, do more shows, another mixtape and maybe a single off my first album "Thinking Out Loud".

Lilz: Where do you see yourself in 10yrs?

KD: Well I see the whole family thing, wife, kids, house. I see money and if I'm lucky enough, I see myself doing what I love for a living and not having to do the whole 9 to 5 thing, that's why right now, sleep and me are not the best of friends.

Lilz: What do you like to do for yourself?

KD: Finding that minute to just chill out, do nothing, smoke, watch shows, play games, cause honestly there's is not too much of that nowadays! But going to the studio is already doing something for myself, come out there feeling relieved as hell every time.

Lilz: How would you describe your music?

KD: My music can make you cry, laugh, think, dance or even work-out, it's really versatile, but no matter what song it is you will always get the real me. What you see is what you get, that's what people love about me and my music, they hear my songs and chill with me and it's the exact same person. No character, no image just good music.

Lilz: What's the best album ever?

KD: The Chronic 2001 or The Marshall Mathers LP......you decide

Lilz: Any shout outs. .
& where can people reach you?

KD:Shoutout to everybody that's getting 4 hours of sleep every night cause they know it's gonna pay off later. Shoutout to everybody in my city, Montreal, that's doing it proper.
